Campaign to request donations for the Depoe Bay Community Fund

By May 6, 2020No Comments

The Depoe Bay Chamber of Commerce is excited to launch a fund-raising campaign to request donations to the Depoe Bay Community Fund in efforts to increase the Chamber’s support of our businesses and non-profit organizations. These funds will be used to directly support locals, not for tourism marketing purposes.

Though on the surface, there seems to be financial support in the pipeline, many organizations and individuals either haven’t yet received ANY funds and/or don’t qualify for federal or state support. Unfortunately, economic experts predict at least 30% of small businesses will not make it through this current crisis. As the Depoe Bay Community, we simply can’t let that happen to these hard-working and dedicated individuals and organizations.

Though many locals are unemployed and/or financially stretched, we know that overall as a community we can support this fundraising effort. In fact, the small town of Yachats has raised over $150,000 in just a couple of months. Some have given $5-$25, while others have donated their stimulus checks. Every little bit helps!

FOR ORGANIZATIONS IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE: Once we understand the amount of funds raised, we will begin accepting simple and quick applications to distribute the funds. These decisions will be made by a committee comprised of Chamber leadership and community members. If you’d like to apply for funds, please check-back for an application.
